Why unresolved anger or sadness creates anxiety

When emotions are left unaddressed, they ferment and manifest. This then morphs into a cocktail of apprehension and unease.

Anger can fester - feeling irrational fears and triggering a constant state of vigilance.

Sadness weighs heavily and can distort our perceptions, amplifying worries about the future.

It’s so crucial to acknowledge and confront our emotions head on if we want to tackle our anxiety, and upkeep our self care.

Self care isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ and it’s ok if your routine doesn’t match Insta-perfect ideals.

Self care doesn’t have to be expensive and break the bank - that won’t do our anxiety any favours if we approach it with that mindset.

Real self care is personal, sometimes private and unique to our needs. It’s about tuning into yourself, and listening to what you really need - in that moment.

Can you pause right now, and ask yourself if your self care practices are actually contributing to your well-being, or are you implementing ideas you think you ‘should’ because others have shared them?
